As we've noted in previous reviews of Lego's newly branded Creator Expert sets, the 18+ rating is a marketing tactic meant to indicate that these sets are targeting adult fans. The latest addition to this lineup is the Lego NASA Discovery Space Shuttle, and it's a behemoth of a model.

The set comes with an impressive 2,354 pieces, making it one of the largest and most detailed space-themed models Lego has ever produced. Included in the set are both the Discovery orbiter and the Hubble Space Telescope, which was launched on the STS-31 mission in April 1990. This is a significant milestone for Lego, as it marks the 40th anniversary of the first shuttle flight.

The packaging is typical of Lego's top-end sets, with an inner box containing the instruction manual, sticker sheets, and bag numbers 1-8. Bags 9-17 and the unnumbered oversized parts bag are loose in the main box, which helps to prevent damage during shipping. The inner box also ensures that all the contents are neatly organized and easy to find.

The model itself is a marvel of Lego engineering, with intricate details and accurate representations of both the Discovery orbiter and the Hubble Space Telescope.
